The Pittsburg Police Department is located in the Pittsburg and Camp County Building on Pittsburg's historic main street in downtown Pittsburg. The Pittsburg Police Department, serving a population of 5000 citizens, is comprised of ten sworn and three civilian employees. These include the Chief, an Investigator, two Patrol Sergeants and six Patrol Officers, a Records Clerk, the Environmental and Animal Control Officers. The Pittsburg Police Department is committed to providing professional service to the citizens of Pittsburg 24 hours a day. This goal is accomplished through an emphasis on maintaining adequate staffing, proper training for all personnel, maintaining up to date equipment and technology, accountability, and by hiring dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the community. The Police Department is active part of the community. The staff regularly participates in community activities such as Chickfest, the Centennial Celebration, Trick or Treat on main Street, and other community festivals and events.
